Historical comment about the place: We are today at "La Mota" Fortress'(also known as our town's,Alcalá la Real, castle) gardens. This fortress used to be a defensive spot for more than one hundred and fifty years. It marked the border between the muslim kingdom of Granada and the catholic one called Castilla. For that purpose it had many walled rings, which made its walled perimeter one of the biggest in Andalucia(the Spanish region that Alcalá la Real is located in), with seven doors, three towers, the alcazaba, the Abacial church, etc.
