Historical comments about the place: Convento de Capuchinos is located in the south end of the Parque de los Álamos. It was built in the mid-seventeenth century. From 1835 on, with the arrival of the religious confiscations, it became a particular housing and oil factory. The original renaissance facade was modified because of the construction of a double staircase and some wide windows.
In the inside, only the basic church structure remains.
Nowadays, it houses the Archive and the local Library, which was opened by Carmen Juan Lovera, a public worker, investigator and expert in history and literature, who also was a referent in Alcalá la Real's culture.
