Historical comments about the place.

The legend of The Mora, tells how a young woman faced with the need of water from her sick mother, had to go down to a fountain in the Christian part. As they say, their beauty had no comparison. Surprised by a captain, she explained the situation, and he fell in love with her, telling her that by letting him carry the water jug, she would have to take off her veil to contemplate her beauty.

From this moment, every day, The Mora went down to the fountain and waited for the captain, and little by little they fell in love. They knew it was a forbidden love, and unfortunately for The Mora, his mother died, but he kept going down to see the captain.

It was then that the father of The Mora returned from his trip and found out about this relationship, so he forbade his daughter to leave the Fortress and see the Christian captain.

There was so much the desire of The Mora, that one day he escaped to see the captain and they were surprised by his father, to the shout of "Before dead, that in the hands of the Christians, by Allah that I swear!"

He rushed to his daughter and pierced his heart with a dagger falling before the captain and his father's feet. Since then, the source has been baptized as the "Fountain of The Mora."
