HISTORICAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE PLACE: The stadium of Ferrara was designed by engineer Carlo Savonuzzi in the context of the Addizione Novecentesca (“Twentieth-century addition”) and opened in 1928. Recently expanded and renewed, it has, however, maintained some architectural elements typical of the Rationalist architecture. Today it is the stadium of the city football team, named SPAL.
