HISTORICAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE PLACE:Comacchio is a small town in the province of Ferrara, and was built over 2000 years ago on 13 small islands connecting the river “Po di Primaro” with the Adriatic Sea. The town formerly was an important inland port, as shown by the artifacts kept in the Ancient Delta Museum (Museo del Delta Antico).
