Location: Aveiro Lagoon, Aveiro
Colour of the Route: Green
Historical Comment: The coastal Lagoon is rich in birds and that's where Aveiro got its name, from Latin the name aviarium (places of birds). It's distinguished by its canals navigated by colorful boats ("moliceiros"), reminding Venice. The boats were traditionally used to harvest seaweed. There is the tradition of navigation by the Lagoon canals and everyday we can see boats sailing through them.
