Historical comment about the place: Praça José da Costa is located in the oldest part of the city. It is a rectangular square about 100 meters long which includes a garden with several species of flowering plants, some statues, benches for people to rest, some space for walking and entertainment. On November 16, 1930, the Memorial of the Great War was inaugurated with the presence of the President of the Republic.
Praça José da Costa is also known as the Public Garden.
