Historical comments about place: The Clérigos Tower is a very popular attraction in Porto that allows foreign tourists ascend the 75 m (240 stairs) tower each day for spectacular views over the city. Designed by Italian architect, Nicolau Nasoni, the Clérigos Tower is one of the best famous monuments of the city and when it was completed in 1763, was the tallest building in Portugal.
