Basic details.

IES Alfonso XI was founded in 1968. It's situated in Alcalá la Real, a village belongs to Jaén, one of the eight province of Andalusia in the south of Spain. Our principal is Mr Juan Manuel Aguilera Díaz.

Our school is a secondary school where students can study ESO, Bachillerato and profesional education (Computers, programming languages). We're 789 students (ages from 12 to 18 years old) and 60 teachers. Our website is http://www.iesalfonsoxi.com

Absenteeism is not a problem at the highschool. There are no serious cases of violence or situations of discrimination, rejection or marginalization. Teachers are very satisfied with the level of cooperation of the parents of our students. And there is good collaboration with other local schools, member of local goverment and he Health Center. Our school is opened for innovations, trying new teaching/learning methods, applies IT in creative ways. Our school encourages the students to participate in projects in order to broaden their horizons, raise their cultural awareness and develop the skill of key competences. In fact, every year teachers organize international exchanges with France and England. Many different activities are organized in the school by teachers in order to get the best education for our students.

Erasmus+ projects.

4 years ago, 2012-2014, we participated as coordinator in a Comenius (Multilateral Comenius Partnership) with a beautiful project called "Gastronomy as an educational resource" http://gastroeurope.wixsite.com/gastroeurope. Also, we
organized three Comenius individual pupil mobilities in this project. 

Apart of that, we've participated in Erasmus+ project in Profesional Educativon for several years, where has been possible to carry out organized mobilities grants for students with 90 days of duration in different international companies.
