Gimnazija Metkovic . (croatia).

Basic details.

Gimnazija Metković was founded in 1954. Our principal is Mr Jozo Jurković. It is a state secondary school with 350 students (age 14-19) and 40 teachers. Students can choose one of three main courses – language-oriented, STEM-oriented and a comprehensive course. The school curriculum is highly academic with on average 16 compulsory subjects every
year, and all pupils go on to higher education at university. Our students have consistently scored high in national competitions and nationwide school-leaving exams.
Other activities of the school add to its European dimension. As a UNESCO, Erasmus and European Parliament Ambassador School, we are continuously promoting Europe-wide cooperation.

Erasmus+ projects.
1. Maths routes around Europe 2018. – 2020.
2. A Digital Mapping of Traditional Jobs in Europe 2018. – 2020.
3. Following the footprints of Emperors 2015. – 2018.
The participants had the opportunity to discover the traces and influences of the Roman Empire in and on culture, language, literature, social life, religion and architecture both in their respective home country and in the partner countries.
4. What's the use of It 2013. – 2015.

Main goal was to approach teaching Mathematics (sciences) in an innovative way and to create alternative lessons for the chapter ‘Applications of functions’, and a new curriculum for a cross- curricular optional course.
5. "Can you tell me the way to...?"; 2015. – 2017.
Partners from nine European countries, whose schools are strategically located near important arteries, set off, on foot, on a journey of their regions in search of ancient, medieval and modern routes which they explored, finding links  between the itinerary’s historical heritage and all the aspects of the area´s natural and cultural aspects as well as the changes these roads have undergone over the centuries and the reasons for them .
