Basic details.

Agrupamento de Escolas Ferreira de Castro is a public school. It gets its name from a famous and important Portuguese author, Ferreira de Castro, one of the most representative writers of the 20th century Portuguese literature. He was born in Ossela, a small village in Oliveira de Azeméis. At the age of 12, he left his home in order to emigrate to Brazil. So hard was his trip that he portrayed it in one of the most translated books in the whole world “A Selva”, 1930 (“The jungle”).
Our school includes a main school and eight smaller schools with several levels of education, from pre-primary school (Kindergarten) up to the secondary school.
The Agrupamento’s school board administration and basic school students (5th to 9th grade) and secondary school have classes in the main school building.
